Erich Glas עֶרִי גְלָס
German and Israeli painter, graphic designer, illustrator and photographer.
Born in 1897 in Berlin, Erich Glas served as a commando soldier, an aerial flight observer and aerial photographer in WWI in the Imperial German Army, and received the highest military decoration - the Iron Cross of the 1st Class.
He proceeded to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and in the Bauhaus school in Weimar.
In 1934, understanding where the winds were blowing in Europe, he moved to Israel and settled in Kibbutz Yagur where he raised 4 children and continued to draw and teach art.
